Production Log
14th January - I came up with the idea whilst we discussed it and added to it to make it perfect. We also made prop and set ideas.
17th January - Kira D started on the script whilst we came up with characters and scene ideas. we also came up with location ideas for the film.
22nd January - We went to the locations and found the best fit which was the drama studio and we started planning the set which would have a podium and chairs to look like a game show. The room was dark enough with barely any windows so it looked like a secluded place which was perfect as the main character has the contestants in a secluded place where the police wont find them in time.
28th January - Carried on with making the script and more pre-production. Made character backstories and found good fits for each role which was a collection of our friends.
4th February - Made risk assessments for the location and did a bit more of pre-production. Kira D finished the script and started finalizing it and putting it together to bring to me.
8th February - Kira D brought in the script and as the Director i proof read it and helped her improve on the parts that needed improving however it was all good.
12th February - With the final handwritten script Kira D started typing it all up for us to use and we cracked down with costume ideas, props, character traits, shot types, lighting, stock footage, set setup etc to get ready for filming after half term.
Half term: 18th February - 22nd February
26th February - Kira D the finished script so i send it to the actors so they learn their lines ready for filming and i start with basic editing of the opening which is stock footage of a documentary on Psychopaths then it cuts to our film whilst the documentary carries on in the background then it cuts to Scarlxrd - Nx Advice instrumental whilst opening credits show and then cuts into the game show.
5th March - Started filming however we started to encounter a big issue which was peoples timetables because not everyone was available at the same time. So we had to change it where we would only film the hosts and one contestants encounters. Also one of our group members dropped out making the work harder to do as we already distributed to all the group members what we all needed to do.
8th March - Filming was going good and we were going through the script at a steady pace which was good however we were still encountering the issue of everyone not being available at the same time,
17th March - Encountered a massive issue where we weren't allowed to use the drama studio anymore making our footage redundant and setting us back a couple weeks which was disheartening.
23rd march - looked at some other locations to try and restart the film however it was harder because now we needed everyone available in their free time which was worse than using them in their college time because they had plans.
2nd April - Still haven't started yet because everyone has been busy so we worked on pre-production and location info, also times we were going to film over the April half term.
Half term: 5th April - 23rd April
17th April - Did all the filming we could except from Noah's because both actors for Noah were busy and were not texting me back so we had to wait for any response. A plan B was Kira's boyfriend in a mask however that was not put into motion and i do not know why because we needed to use any resource to finish our film,
May 3rd - DUE DATE. We did not reach the due date and got an A1 where we get support to try an finish it which was good however the two actors were still not responding and later on in may i mentioned Kira's boyfriend in a mask again.
Notes:
- Earlier in the production, i sent my side of the pre-production to Kira and she added it to hers and changed some parts to suit her pre-production however she has submitted it in her name and has not given me her side of the pre-production for me to work off of and that is unfair.
- My friends have ended up not coming back to me for playing Noah yet i got blamed for that which is also unfair because it is out of my control and Kira got the last of the footage i believe however she is refusing to hand it over with the last of the footage that i helped her with so i physically cannot finish the film, that is why i do not have it.
- What i do have to give is my side of the Pre-production and the production log which i know is not enough however, again, i cannot physically finish the film and the rest of the pre-production without the rest of the footage and Kira is refusing to comply.
- We have had disputes throughout production because she has been cruel and unfair to me since the beginning of filming and i have proof however i do not want to go into it because i do not want to completely throw Kira under the bus, like she has done so to me.
The reason i wrote these notes was because i do not appreciate being thrown under the bus and screwed over by Kira and i am going to be the one getting in trouble because Kira wasn't complying. This is not me 100% trying to get Kira in trouble, i have a lot more to say about the situation however i will not bring it up because i am trying to be the bigger person in the situation. This is just for you to understand that i have tried to comply with Kira and to get the remaining work i need to finish the project however that failed to happen and i do not want to get in trouble for something that is now out of my control.
